Sips & Sights: Oaxaca's Premier Drink Destinations

If you're looking for a night out in Oaxaca City, Mexico, there's no shortage of places to go for drinks. Here are three of my favorite spots:

Guajolote de Oro

If you're looking for a cocktail bar with a great ambiance, look no further than Guajolote de Oro. This restaurant and cocktail bar is located at the Hotel Amantes and is a tribute to the fire, earth, herbs, and magic of Oaxacan artisans. The candlelight and textures of the walls make for a truly magical experience. Try the delicious cauliflower taquitos and the incredible cocktail flavors that taste like earth… in the best ways.

Archivo Maguey

Archivo Maguey is the place to go if you're in the mood for music and dancing. This nightlife spot has a dance floor toward the back and features a speakeasy called Yndio Yope, with other genres of music, upstairs behind a bookcase. The mezcal is plentiful, and the atmosphere is cool and laid-back. Check out their schedule for different genres and special themed nights!

La Mezcalerita

If you're a fan of craft beer, don't miss La Mezcalerita. This spot is incredible for artisanal beers and is the perfect place to go for drinks with friends. It's a great spot to relax and enjoy good vibes. I recommend trying to get to the roof, especially at night.

No matter what your drink of choice is, Oaxaca has something for everyone. Check out these three spots for a night out you won't forget!
